The Garden Realm at a glance

The Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Realm lies between the Bauhaus town Dessau and Lutherstadt Wittenberg, in the middle of the UNESCO “Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve”. The Garden Realm extends over a total of 142 square kilometres and primarily covers the area of the historical Principality of Anhalt-Dessau.
Click on our interactive map for more information about the country houses and parks.

An ideal way to get to know the Garden Realm is to walk or cycle along the ca. 60 km long Fürst Franz Garden Realm tour. This tour connects all the country houses and parks and is named after Leopold III. Friedrich Franz of Anhalt-Dessau who created the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Realm in the second half of the 18th century.

If you want something less strenuous, then from April to October you can use the Dessau-Wörlitz train that connects the towns of Dessau-Roßlau, Oranienbaum and Wörlitz with each other.
